Educating healthcare professionals on heart failure

In February 2025, we organised a highly successful webinar for healthcare professionals: Tackling the Growing Burden of Heart Failure: A Guide for Primary Care on behalf of the Alliance for Heart Failure.
With nearly 400 attendees – all healthcare professionals, including GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and rehabilitation specialists – the event exceeded expectations and reached the exact target audience.
Background
Heart failure is one of the fastest-growing major health conditions in the UK. Primary care professionals encounter potential or diagnosed cases daily. Better symptom recognition, diagnosis, and treatment decisions in community settings can significantly improve patient outcomes and ease the growing burden on healthcare services.
Objectives
- Equip primary care professionals with the knowledge to enhance heart failure care
- Encourage further professional development
- Registration goal: 200
Strategy and execution
We curated a panel of eight leading experts from diverse healthcare backgrounds, including the National Clinical Director for Heart Disease, a GP and past President of the Primary Care Cardiovascular Society, as well as specialists in nursing, pharmacy and cardiovascular care. Speaker briefings and rehearsals ensured a well-structured, engaging session. Targeted audiences were reached via strategic outreach.
Results
- 557 registrations, goal greatly exceeded
- 388 live attendees
- 345 new subscribers to the client’s mailing list
The feedback was amazing, with 87.5% finding the session very useful and 92.5% being highly likely to pursue further education on heart failure.
Attendees left feeling informed, inspired and ready to take action in their communities. The success has led to requests for more webinars – a telling sign to the impact and demand for expert-led webinars in healthcare and other sectors.
